This month, our monthly series “Conversation with Curtis” discusses the evolution of jazz drumming with world renowned drummer Willie Jones III.
With an unparalleled style of rhythmic expression, drummer Willie Jones III is one of the world's leading jazz drummers. Inspired by his father, the notable jazz pianist Willie Jones II, by his mid-20s his own talent had already been recognized and he had traveled Europe opening for Wynton Marsalis. Jones was a member of Roy Hargrove’s Quintet, and is featured on Sandoval's GRAMMY® award winning release Hot House (N2K), Kurt Elling's GRAMMY® nominated Night Moves (Concord) and more.
