Forged from his Memphis gospel roots, Kirk Whalum’s big, rich tenor sound is unmistakably his: soulful, passionate, and stirring. A Grammy Award winner and 12-time nominee, he is the legendary saxophonist behind Whitney Houston’s iconic, mega-hit solo on “I Will Always Love You.”
Building on a storied legacy, Kirk’s 2024 release, Epic Cool, landed in the Top 20 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart, spawned multiple Top 5s and maintains his position as a staple of contemporary jazz.
