Cohoba is a BIPOC-led collective of psychedelic-positive therapists, bodyworkers, advocates, and artists. We are a 501c3 nonprofit structured as a community therapy center, housed within the VAPA Center . We are raising money to benefit CohobaFest, a night dedicated to arts, community, and psychedelic education. Your participation allows us to host advocates from "Transcendence", a documentary film exploring the reemergence of therapeutic and ceremonial psychedelic medicine through the experiences of people of color. CohobaFest will feature a screening of a clip from the film, and a discussion moderated by Cohoba therapists. CohobaFest will also display the talents of local visual artists in a psychedelic gallery show as well as a live performance by Drums 4 Life. Your donation helps us make this a night to remember, funding interactive musical performances, plant medicine workshops, and a shared sense of communal joy. CohobaFest will be hosted inside VAPA at the OBRA Collective gallery on Saturday, 7/30, 5-9pm.
Beyond CohobaFest, your donation serves to advance Cohoba's ability to offer educational workshops, trainings, and sliding scale therapeutic interventions. Over the last five years, we have poured ourselves into our mission of bringing psychedelic science and community mental health to Charlotte. In 2021, we secured office space, onboarded members, put two of our clinicians through the MDMA therapy training, and finalized our 501(c)3 paperwork! Meeting those goals puts us on track to provide expert support to people living with PTSD, and other mental health challenges. So far, 100% of our goals have been met through the use of our personal resources. Any donation you make today, no matter how large or small, will help bring our vision to life. Thank you - it is because of your support that Charlotteans will be able to access psychedelic-assisted therapy that is safe, effective, and equitable.
