The June 15th Wednesday Night Live will feature special performances by Moving Spirits, Inc., a contemporary arts organization dedicated to performing, researching, documenting, cultivating, and producing arts of the African diaspora. During the evening, excerpts of “Coming Home”, “Re-Discovering Cycles” and “Lyabas” will be performed barefoot by Moving Spirits in the Bechtler’s lobby. This performance will kick off the Bechtler’s celebration of Juneteenth, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved individuals and honoring black culture, with events at the Bechtler on Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18.
