The story of the great Swiss engineer Othmar H. Ammann, who moved out in 1904 and redefined the rules of bridge construction in America ... again and again, for decades and in a spectacular way. The beginning of motorization, the post-war years, the consumer society: Ammann is not only right in the middle - with his bridges he is a dynamic player, an agent of progress ... and of belief in it.
