Levine Avenue of the Arts

There's never been a better time to take advantage of UPtown's on-street entertainment, pop-UP vendors, green parks and the aromas of international cuisine being served UP nearby. And it's never been more important to support the businesses that makes Uptown unique. It's time to show UP. #showupforuptown

The Levine Avenue, from Tryon to Church Street, is closed until June for the Streetery Program, allowing you to grab a bite to eat, enjoy the outdoor seating and the string lights before exploring more of Uptown. The set-up for outdoor dining will be available day and evening. We will have Food Trucks and entertainment on Friday evenings and Saturday during the afternoon - evening (weather dependent).

Along the street closure you will find beauetiful decorated hutlets for dining, seating, and your enjoyment. The hutlets were brought in to be used as dining or workspace areas, and dedicated specifically to Fin & Fino and Reid’s, as an extension of their patios.

They were decorated/painted by local artist, Robin Stallings, who was coordinated through Wendy Hickey of ArtPop Street Gallery. https://www.robinstallingsart.com

June 21 - Make Music Day

Make Music Charlotte is a live, free musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year, with concerts on streets, sidewalks, and parks across the city.

Make Music Day start in France, 1982. France’s Ministry of Culture dreamed up an idea for a new kind of musical holiday. They created a full day where free, live music would be everywhere: street corners and parks, rooftops and gardens, store fronts and mountaintops.

Unlike a typical music festival, anyone and everyone would be invited to join and play music or host performances. The event would take place on the summer solstice, June 21, and would be called Fête De La Musique. (In French, the name means both “festival of music” and “make music!”)

Make Music Charlotte wants to keep the spirit of Fête De La Musique alive by celebrating Make Music Day on June 21. Anyone and everyone are invited to find a way to celebrate and make music! We invite YOU to celebrate Make Music Day with us!
