Details
Old Settler's Cemetery, established before Charlotte's founding in 1768, became the final resting place for many of the city's early settlers. Originally located beside a nondenominational church, now the site of First Presbyterian Church, it served as the main burial ground for over a century until Elmwood Cemetery opened. Today, it offers a peaceful green space surrounded by churches and skyscrapers, standing as a lasting tribute to Charlotte’s history.
