How to Spend a Full Day in Uptown Charlotte

Uptown Charlotte is the heart of the Queen City, packed with hidden gems, stunning views, and plenty of ways to fill a day with adventure. Whether you're a local looking for a fresh itinerary or a visitor exploring for the first time, here’s the perfect way to spend a full day in Uptown.

Morning: Coffee & Vintage Finds

Start your day at Lotties, a new Black-owned coffee shop and breakfast spot at the Queen City Quarter. The cozy atmosphere and coffee make it the perfect place to ease into your morning. If you have a sweet tooth, be sure to order the Airplane Latte—it’s a must-try!

After fueling up, take a short stroll next door to Standout Vintage. This spot is a treasure trove of unique, hand-picked fashion pieces that are fun to browse through.

Midday: Lunch at a Hidden Gem

By now, you’ve worked up an appetite, so head to The Alley at Latta Arcade for lunch. This historic 1914 arcade is an architectural beauty tucked right in the middle of Uptown. With multiple vendors offering a variety of options, you’ll find something for everyone.

Afternoon: Relax & Explore

After lunch, it’s time to slow down and soak in the beauty of the city. You have two great options:

  • Take a peaceful stroll through Romare Bearden Park, where you can relax on the lawn, and enjoy stunning views of the skyline.
  • If you’re in the mood for culture, head over to The Mint Museum to explore its rotating art installations.

Evening: Rooftop Drinks & Entertainment

As the sun starts to set, make your way to Merchant & Trade, a newly remodeled rooftop bar with sweeping views of the city. Sip on a craft cocktail and take in the skyline—it’s the perfect way to ease into your evening plans.

Night: Sports, Comedy, or Live Music

Depending on the season and your vibe, you have a few great options to wrap up your day:

  • Catch a baseball game at Truist Field and cheer on the Charlotte Knights.
  • Get some laughs in at The Comedy Club by Duckworth’s, where you’ll find local comedians delivering hilarious sets.

Enjoy live music at Middle C Jazz, the go-to spot for an intimate jazz performance.
