Uptown Charlotte is gearing up for an unforgettable celebration as Charlotte SHOUT! returns from April 4-20, 2025. This beloved annual festival, produced by Charlotte Center City Partners and presented by Atrium Health and Bank of America, will once again transform the city into a dynamic hub of creativity, culture, and community.
Built on four key pillars—art, music, food, and ideas—Charlotte SHOUT! is a sensory feast for all ages, featuring over 200 events and attractions across 17 days in the heart of the city. From large-scale art installations and live performances to culinary delights and thought-provoking discussions, there’s something for everyone to experience
A Grand Kickoff at the Historic Carolina Theatre
Charlotte SHOUT! will officially kick off with a special ticketed event on April 3 at 7:00 PM at the newly restored Carolina Theatre—one of the first major events at this iconic venue since its closure in 1978.
This opening night will be a multisensory showcase of all four SHOUT! pillars, featuring live performances, interactive art, and a compelling keynote speech by Noelle Russell, an industry leader in artificial intelligence, who will explore AI’s impact on our future.
What’s New for 2025?
This year’s festival introduces several exciting new experiences, including:
CanStruction – Witness a live competition where engineering and design teams build massive CanArt® sculptures entirely out of canned food, later donated to Second Harvest Food Bank.
Queen’s Greens – A fully reimagined mini golf experience with nine artist-designed holes, blending creativity with interactive play.
Oracle – Larger-than-life inflatable characters that interact with festival-goers using AI-powered voices.
EdgeFest – A celebration of street art featuring live mural painting and spray paint showcases from local artists.
Mi Casa, Your Casa 2.0 – A glowing red-frame interactive installation by Esrawe + Cadena, inviting visitors to connect with public spaces in a whole new way.
Fan Favorites Returning in 2025
Many of last year’s most popular experiences are back, including:
Eggs on Parade – A collection of 13 oversized, artist-designed Easter eggs displayed throughout Uptown.
Pianodrome – The United States’ first amphitheater made entirely of recycled pianos, now in its new home inside the Wells Fargo Atrium.
E/motion – Illuminated, interactive seesaws that mimic the flow of water, a mesmerizing installation by Olivier Landreville and Serge Maheu.
Live Music Everywhere – Dozens of local and regional musicians will take the stage at Victoria Yards and other locations across Uptown.
Surprise Pop-Up Installations – Hidden alleys, public spaces, and unexpected corners of the city will be transformed into immersive art experiences.

Festivals-Within-the-Festival
Charlotte SHOUT! also features three special mini-festivals that celebrate food, barbecue, and big ideas:
Charlotte StrEATs Festival (April 12-13) – A tribute to Charlotte’s dynamic culinary scene, featuring chef demos, food tastings, and the return of StrEATs Uncorked (April 4), a special event celebrating North Carolina wines.
Carolina BBQ Festival (April 4-5) – A BBQ lover’s paradise with tastings from top pitmasters, live music, local vendors, and an onsite brick pit showcasing whole hog cooking.
Charlotte Ideas Festival (April 3-8) – Thought-provoking conversations led by leading thinkers and innovators, including:
