Resident Culture is Coming to Uptown!
Welcome Resident Culture Brewing to Uptown!
Exciting news is brewing in the heart of Uptown, as Resident Culture Brewing Co. announces its expansion to The Market at 7th Street. Adding to their already impressive portfolio of locations, Resident Culture is set to take over the former Tank's Tap space at The Market, bringing their renowned craft beers and vibrant atmosphere to this bustling neighborhood. With an anticipated opening later this summer, residents and visitors alike can look forward to experiencing the distinctive flavors and community-centered approach that Resident Culture is known for.
This new venture will see Resident Culture establish a 300 square foot bar, featuring an impressive selection of 12 beers on tap, as well as retail coolers stocked with cans to-go. However, this is just the beginning of their Uptown journey. With plans to move to a larger space within The Market, encompassing 1,200 square feet and even including a patio, in late 2024, Resident Culture is committed to making a lasting impact in this vibrant district.
The decision to set up shop in Uptown was fueled by Resident Culture's belief in the revitalization and comeback of the area. Co-owner Philip McLamb shares, "We've worked closely with Center City Partners in the past, and when the opportunity presented itself to be a staple in The Market at 7th Street, we decided to jump on it." McLamb further explains that Resident Culture's core values align with the mission of The Market, making it a perfect fit for the brewery's vision.
The Market at 7th Street is a haven for unique businesses in Charlotte, with 12 distinctive establishments already thriving within its walls. From renowned coffee shop Not Just Coffee to the delightful Orrman's Cheese Shop, there is a wide variety of offerings to satisfy any palate. Resident Culture has even collaborated with Jimmy Pearls, a restaurant located within The Market, on beer-pairing dinners. Since its inception in 2011, The Market has been a catalyst for economic growth, with over 35 businesses finding success within its walls, including eight women-owned and seven minority-owned concepts. By joining this community, Resident Culture aims to further promote small business diversity and contribute to the growth of Uptown Charlotte.
The announcement of Resident Culture's arrival has been met with enthusiasm from the local community and key figures in the Charlotte business landscape. Michael Smith, CEO of Charlotte Center City Partners, expresses his excitement, stating, "We are thrilled to have Resident Culture join our family of diverse Market entrepreneurs. Resident Culture will add vitality and expand our customer base, while contributing to our Market's mission of incubation, inclusion, and economic opportunities." Salem Suber, Executive Director of the Market at 7th Street, echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the perfect match between Resident Culture's collaborative approach with local chefs and the mission of The Market as a culinary incubator.
Located conveniently beside the 7th Street light rail station, the new Resident Culture location offers easy access to popular Uptown destinations such as the Spectrum Center and Bank of America Stadium. Whether you're attending a game or exploring the vibrant Uptown scene, Resident Culture's doors will be open to serve you. The Market at 7th Street's address, 224 E 7th Street, will be a hub of activity from Monday to Thursday, with opening hours from 3-9 p.m., extending to 12-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12-8 p.m. on Sundays.
