The Ultimate Guide to the Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade
The holiday season is upon us, and what better way to kick it off than by attending the 78th Annual Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade? This beloved tradition, brought to us by Novant Health, lights up Tryon Street the night before Thanksgiving, creating a magical atmosphere for families and friends to come together and celebrate. To make the most of your parade experience, here are some pro tips:
Where and When:
- The parade is set to step off on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, November 28, at 5:30 pm. The excitement begins just as the sun starts to set, creating the perfect backdrop for the festivities.
- The Parade route starts down Tryon St at the 9th Street intersection and ends at the Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd intersection.
- Can't make it in person? No worries! The parade will be broadcast live on WCCB starting at 6:00 pm, so you can still enjoy the magic of the parade while getting ready for the holiday.
Spectator Tips:
- The parade is FREE for all! You're encouraged to stake out your ideal viewing spot along Tryon Street, between 9th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd before 5:00pm. The parade draws a huge crowd!
- Folding chairs and blankets are encouraged for seating to keep you comfortable during the parade.
- Bundle up! Once the sunsets, the temperature drops and it might be chilly. Hats, gloves, and additional blankets are recommended for a cozy parade experience.
- There will be vendors selling hot dogs, hot beverages, illuminated gadgets and more along Tryon St.
- You can reserve a VIP bleacher seat for just $35. This special reserved seat offers a "courtside" view of the entire parade on Tryon St., from the very first banner to Santa himself. Purchase your VIP tickets here and secure your spot in advance for the festivities.
